About us
Angels Nursery has been welcoming children since 2005, We ocuppy the large ground floor of Stainbeck United Reform church situated in Meanwood,Leeds. Although we are totally independant of the church we have community values.
We are dedicated to providing exceptional care within our nursery, focusing on nurturing the growth and development of children as if they were our own.
Our commitment to fostering a safe, stimulating environment allows little ones to explore, learn, and flourish. We understand that each child is unique, and our tailored approach ensures that their individual needs are met with love and attention, creating a foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

Opening Times
- Monday to Friday Opening - 7.30am until 6.00pm
- Morning Session Starting - 7.30am until 12.30pm
- Afternoon Session Starting - 1.00pm until 6.00pm
- Funding Sessions please enquire for times and availability.
- We open all year round, closing for bank holidays, 3 days at christmas and 2 training days per year.
Nursery Enviroment
Our nursery is set up with three large playrooms to accomodate children from 3 months to 5 years old, babies, toddlers and pre-school, these are thoughtfully arranged to be age-appropriate, ensuring that children can engage in play and learning in a safe and welcoming environment. Each space is equipped with comfortable soft furnishings, such as plush cushions and cosy rugs, allowing little ones to relax during storytime, reading or engage in creative activities. Children enjoy imaginative free play, dressing up in the home corner, water and sand activities or constructing a master piece.
Children can enjoy and explore the outdoors in our large garden spaces, they can plant flowers or vegetables, enjoy climbing areas, painting and drawing, making pies in the mud kitchen, having a look to see who has checked in to our bug hotel, riding our bikes and cars, or reading in the cosy book area, outdoor activities contribute to childrens health, their physical development and their knowlage of the world around them.
When it rains or is cold you can still find us outside wrapped up against the elements, enjoying splashing in puddles, playing in the snow, or picking up the falling leaves to make collages to take home.
The entrance to the nursery is at the rear of Stainbeck United Reform Church at the junction of Stainbeck Road and Stainbeck Lane.
There is ample parking when dropping off or collecting your child. To help protect the environment, we ask that you please turn off your car engine when waiting in the car.








The Nursery day
The day is organised so that children can take part in a variety of child-led and adult-led activities, these take account of children's changing energy levels throughout the day. We cater for children's individual needs for rest and quiet activities. We believe that care and education are equaly important in the experience which we offer children, the routines and activities that make up the day in our setting are provided in ways that:
- Help each child to feel that they are a valued member of the setting;
- Ensure the safety of each child;
- Help children to gain from the social experience of being part of a group;
- Provide children with opportunities to learn and help them to value learning.
- Encourage children to have a voice and be listened to.
Key person
On starting at Angels Nursery a member of staff will be assigned as your child's key worker, they will play a vital role in providing personalised care and support for your child's needs. This designated individual acts as a primary contact for your child, ensuring they feel secure and valued within the group. The key worker develops a strong relationship with both the child and their family, enabling them to understand and cater to individual preferences, interests, and developmental milestones. By fostering a nurturing environment, the key worker helps children build confidence and social skills while encouraging positive interactions with their peers. This dedicated approach not only enhances your child's learning experience but also ensures that any specific needs or concerns are promptly addressed, creating a supportive foundation for their growth and well-being.
Safeguarding Children
- Angel’s Nursery has a duty under the law to help safeguard children against suspected or actual‘significant harm’,
- Our employment practices ensure children against the likelihood of abuse in our setting and we have a procedure for managing complaints or allegations against a member of staff.
- Our way of working with children and their parents ensures that we are aware of any problems that may emerge and can offer support, including referral to appropriate agencies when necessary, to help families in difficulty.
- Mobile phones should not be used on the nursery premises, please finish conversations before entering.
- We hold regular fire drills and frequent safety and risk assessments take place.
- All medicines must be signed in by a parent/carer and never left in a child’s bag unattended.

- We are vigilant about what arrives into nursery in children's bags and pockets, anything that could pose a hazard should be left at home.

Famly -- on-line platform for recording children's progress
Famly is an innovative online platform that we use at Angels Nursery, it is designed specifically for childcare settings, allowing parents to stay actively involved in their child's daily activities and development. By contributing to online journals, families can share insights and feedback, enhancing the communication between us and parents/carers. This collaborative approach not only provides families with real-time updates regarding their child's day but also fosters a stronger partnership in nurturing the child's growth. families can engage meaningfully and ensure they are part of their child's learning and development.
- A risk assesment is completed with details on how the online platform is managed to ensure children are safeguarded.
- Each user has a separate user-id and password, a user is only permited to see the information that is relevant to them.
- Famly uses the secure sockets layer (SSL) to encrypt all communication between the server and the tablets we use.
- Staff adhere to the guidance provided with the system at all times.

Nursery Staffing
Our nursery practitioners play a vital role in creating a warm and nurturing environment for the children. With their extensive knowledge and experience, they are adept at understanding each child's unique needs and fostering their development. Our caring team members engage with children through thoughtful interactions, ensuring that every moment is an opportunity for learning and growth. They are dedicated to providing a safe space where children can explore, play, and discover while receiving the support they need to thrive. By prioritising emotional wellbeing and building strong relationships, our staff team create a sense of belonging that is essential for the healthy development of each child in their care.
All our staff are DBS checked and most hold a recognised childcare qualification or are training towards one. The staff team undertake continual learning through in-house or external training including peadiatric first aid, we provide two staff training days per year and keep up with best practice, as members of the early years alliance.
We maintain the ratio of adults to children that is set by the safeguarding and welfare requirements.

Kayleigh joined Angels Nursery in 2005.
From her very first day she displayed a passion for nurchering young minds and commitment to provide the highest standards of care and education, she has undergone extensive training in management, childcare and education. She was excited to take up the position of deputy manager in 2015 and after dedicating years of hard work and commitment in the nursery, Kayleigh was proud to have stepped into the role of manager in 2023
